Hanging by an aircraft cable, a hollow bronze bust of Plato’s head with Virtual Reality goggles floats on a plinth.
The sculpture relates the allegory of the cave with which Plato contrasts the two platonic worlds: the ideal and the sensible, with the current dichotomy between the real and the virtual.
Formally, the sculpture is based on the virtual image generated by a 3D scan, in which the mesh of points has not yet been processed and has holes. It floats to give that idea of virtuality.
